La Casa Parent-Child Academy Program Manager Position

 

Job Title: Parent-Child Academy Program Manager                       Division: Youth, Family and Health Services

Location: 23 Broadway                                                                        Reports to: Division Director

Employment Classification: Full-time                                                SOC Equiv. Code: 11-9151

FLSA Status: Exempt                                                                          Compensation: Commensurate with Experience

Position Summary: To provide motivational leadership and management of early childhood education for parents and their children ages 0-3.

Responsibilities and Duties:

 Oversees daily operation of La Casa’s Parent-Child Academy including transportation, meals and classroom instructors.

 Plans, organizes and coordinates La Casa’s Parent-Child Academy ensuring it complies with the AVANCE, Inc. curriculum.

 Ensures an emotional, physical, and intellectual stimulating environment that promotes and enhances learning for program participants.

 Serves as a liaison between La Casa, our local schools and parents.

 Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships/partnerships with local schools, businesses, government agencies, and other non-profit organizations.

 In charge of taking inventory of programmatic needs and for placing all orders of materials, furniture and equipment while adhering to La Casa’s procurement process.

 Responsible for creating monthly programmatic calendar and for posting it accordingly

 Coordinates and assists with door to door outreach and for the recruitment of program participants

 Responsible for creating evaluation plan to gather data and evaluate the impact of the program

 Monitors and tracks program level of services to evaluate and ensure the delivery of quality services.

 Ensures participant case management files are created and maintained confidential by program staff.

 Periodically reviews cases, recommending and carrying out appropriate actions to resolve participant’s concerns.

 Responsible for completing and submitting monthly, quarterly and yearly reports

 Attends professional meetings, educational conferences, and in-service trainings in order to maintain and improve professional competence as well as staff meetings.

 Oversees employees performance in order to ensure program objectives and assignments are met satisfactory.

 Responsible for the direct supervision of all Parent-Child Academy employees.

 In charge of evaluating the Parent-Child Academy employees and for preparing staff evaluations and performance.

 Identifies employees training needs and arranges for formal and informal trainings in order to improve employee’s job performance.

 Responsible for preparing employee warning notices and for implementing corrective action plans when deemed necessary.

 In charge of addressing staff concerns when feasible. When the situation at hand is of a greater concern the program manager is responsible for bringing the matter to the attention of senior management.

 Responsible for community building and outreach efforts with the goal of increasing awareness in the community of La Casa’s programs and increase participant numbers.

 Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

 Master’s Degree with major coursework in Early Childhood Education/Social Services with two years of supervisory experience, or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education/Social Services with four years supervisory experience

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

 Able to facilitate presentations to community and other professionals

 Able to complete a fingerprinting background check and Child Abuse Record Information (CARI) Form

 Experience working with a non-profit organization.

Other Requirements and Physical Demands:

 Extensive knowledge of family support services and resources.

 Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and the use of the Internet.

 Bilingual/Bicultural (Must be able to read, write and speak Spanish).

 Experience working with early childhood population and parents.

 Certified or in the process of completing CPR/First Aid Training.

 A valid driver’s license is preferred.

 Professional business attire required

Schedule:

 Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9:00am-5:00pm

 Wednesday and Friday 1:00 pm – 9:00 pm

 Work schedule is subject to change. Candidate must be able to work a flexible work schedule in order to meet program needs.
