Success Charter Network is a fast growing not-for-profit Charter Management Organization (CMO) that operates nine public charter elementary and middle schools throughout New York City. Over the next decade, our network will grow to 40 schools that provide a phenomenal K-8 public education to NYC school children. Our dual mission is to:
1. Offer children in New York City an exceptional public education that prepares them to succeed in college and life.
2. Forever alter the educational prospects for all public school children by creating a “tipping point” – moving a nation where educational failure is the norm to a nation that expects high-quality public school options for all children.
We are seeking Art Teachers who are results-oriented, relentless and take a “Beyond Z” approach in teaching rigorous, engaging and high quality instruction.
Responsibilities: Our Art Teachers will…
- • Be a part of a highly motivated team committed to education reform, parent choice and the building of exemplary schools
- • Collaborate with art teachers across the network to build a superb art program
- • Encourage creative thinking and a love for art
- • Organize high quality art shows for scholars to display their work
- • Receive routine, ongoing feedback and support from an outstanding leadership team and faculty
- • Teach in classrooms filled with resources and technology
- • Join a ground-breaking faculty of teachers who collaborate regularly with a team and leader
Qualifications: Our Art Teacher will have full-time classroom experience, preferably in an urban setting. Our ideal candidate will have a track record of success developing creative environments whereby art is explored, discovered and observed both in and out of the classroom. A Bachelor’s Degree is required. A teaching certification in the content area is preferred. Demonstrated competencies in the following areas are a must:
- • Data Driven. Proven record of achievement as an elementary or middle school teacher.
- • Stamina. Ability to handle the intensity required to work in a high-performing charter school.
- • Accountability. Ensure that joyful, rigorous instruction is delivered to every scholar, every day.
- • Management. Ability to manage the behavior in your classroom.
- • Self-Reflection. Ability to accept and implement feedback received for real-time improvement.
In addition, the following characteristics are required to be successful on this team:
- • Extraordinary Attention to Detail. Thinks critically about the details of a task at hand.
- • Flexibility. Ability to adjust expected tasks and schedule to the updated priorities.
- • Dedication to Mission. A genuine interest in finding ways to improve public education and support our schools.
- • Collaboration. Working with teammates and responsive to feedback.
- • Beyond Z Attitude. Willingness to go above and beyond the requirements of the job to be innovative and support the organization.
- • Deadline Driven. Meeting project timelines set by leadership in an effort to improve one’s practice.

Our Visual Arts Middle School Teachers will…

- • Teach in classrooms filled with resources and technology
- • Join a ground-breaking faculty who collaborate regularly with a team and leader
Qualifications
Our ideal Visual Arts Middle School Teacher will have full-time classroom teaching experience, preferably in an urban setting. A Bachelor’s Degree is required. Teaching certification and experience working with Gifted and Talented programs is preferred. Demonstrated competencies in the following areas are a must:
